so throw out your hand

This section, known as Queen of Vanity, is likely the largest part of the entire shrine. While generally, love relationships are only one part of a series and a character's development, Kare Kano is unique in that the relationships between the characters are 100% the catalyst for plot changes and the characters' evolution. In particular, the key relationship between Arima and Miyazawa is what keeps the plot going. Yukino is what causes a profound change in Arima's personality and for better or for worse, their relationship causes him to look at himself and his world differently. Thus it's absolutely impossible to talk about Arima without talking about Miyazawa because she is literally his entire world.

  2. Change of Heart :: miyazawa's effect on him

  3. Love vs. Need :: intertwined, yet decidedly different

  4. Making Love is Empty :: (mature) physical things mean nothing

  5. Violence and Love as Hate :: arima's destructive feelings

  6. Playing the Part :: two years as the perfect boyfriend

  7. What Went Wrong :: where yukino failed

  8. Revelations :: finally unraveling the truth

  10. Why They Work :: the mechanics of an otp

As a note, Arima will always be referred to as Arima because that's what Yukino calls him for most of the series (being embarrassed to call him Souichiro) and Miyazawa will be referred to as either Miyazawa (what Arima calls her) or Yukino (what everyone else calls her).
